Children & Traumatic events (Oct 15) – Best Practice Event resources and evaluation

The CAMHs best practice session focussing on Children and traumatic events was held in October 2015 –  details and resources can be found here

Evaluation

During that event evaluation was conducted with some generally positive feedback:

Over 120 professionals attended from across Thames Valley  with 57 completing their evaluation forms asking what people would benefit from for future events:

  • 28 requesting to discuss guidelines
  • 25 requesting the forum to disseminate national updates
  • 51 requesting more training events
  • 38 would appreciate website resources

These results gave us a lot to think about and to ask ourselves what to do next

57 of you would like future Network Events –at least 2-3 times per year

In response to this we plan to hold a further Children & Maternity Network Best Practice Event on the 18th of March 2016 12.00 – 16.30.

More details to follow but the plan is to hold the next event in Buckinghamshire as we would rotate locations.

We asked “What other topics would you like to see addressed at future best practice events?” and the responses were:

  • 40 said Looked after children
  • 34 said Transition from adolescent to adult care
  • 28 said Working across services / multidisciplinary working
  • 31 said Public health/Early Intervention

We are happy that so many are interested in these events and if you have any questions please email Network Manager – rebecca.furlong@nhs.net
