Dr Aarti Chapman is Associate Director of both the Strategic Clinical Networks and Clinical Senate in Thames Valley.
She has worked in the NHS for 7 years, both in the Strategic Health Authority and at Oxford University Hospitals Trust in a number of strategic roles including pathology and mental health.
Aarti started life as an academic having completed a D. Phil and post-doctoral research in molecular biology at the University of Oxford. She worked on cancer gene mapping and the creation of mammalian artificial chromosomes. She spent a number of years working at the University Of Oxford’s intellectual property arm, Isis Innovation Limited, converting early stage ideas into patented inventions, as well as licensing them to biotech and pharmaceutical industry and establishing start-up companies. Aarti has also dabbled in the start-up world looking to raise funding from business angels and venture capital. Aarti has an MBA from Imperial College, London and has previously worked as a freelance consultant for a number of years with clients from the private sector, the NHS and academia.
