The focus of the Children network for the period of 2013 / 2015 are the projects outlined below:
We are delighted to announce that Dr Stephen Madgwick has joined Thames Valley & MK SCN as Clinical lead for CAMHS this Autumn. His appointment is a great opportunity to strengthen the leadership across the region in order to ensure that CAMHS remains a high priority.
Dr Madgwick had been a GP at Brookside Group Practice in Reading for the past 30 years and latterly chair of Wokingham CCG until he retired in January 2015. His interest and experience of CAMHS was further strengthend when he took up the chair of a pan-Berkshire CAMHS strategy group which enabled the wider patch to coordinate what was a complicated commissioning picture in Berkshire.
On his appointment, Dr Madgwick said; “It’s an exciting time to be involved with CAMHS development as it is so high on the political agenda. My hope in this Thames Valley role is that I can facilitate good practice as we all work hard to provide an excellent and integrated service for our children and young people. Their good mental health is our focus and will require us all working well together across the traditional levels of the service”
