In response to the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health (Mental Health Taskforce 2016) the Mental Health, Dementia and Neurology Strategic Clinical Network for Thames Valley is undertaking an analysis of mental health service provision across the region.
This project will focus on two key areas:
It will aim to identify gaps and opportunities for development to improve the quality of mental health services and support the delivery of the recommendations in the national strategy in these two areas. The project will result in a report that will be available to commissioners and providers to support their future commissioning decisions and service delivery.
The SCN has developed two questionnaires drawing on national best-practice and standards to capture this information and seeks the support of commissioners and local providers in completing these. Questionnaires will be sent out to commissioners by the 20th October and to local providers shortly after.
We are also asking for any additional information that commissioners and providers feel would be helpful in informing this work, such as an up-to-date list of services in their area and specifications for any of the services they commission or provide.
If you have any queries please contact Jose Hernandez, Project Manager on 0113 825 5535.
We are more than happy to discuss how this guidance could be utilised locally. (Contact details at the back of the guidance).
This section of the MHDN network is building up a directory of national, and where appropriate, local policies and national policies.
Currently we have included information relating to mental health;
There is therefore a section on the Crisis Care Concordat and the GP Leadership Programme
This section, as most of the website is evolving and will be updated on a regular basis.
