At our January Conference, Professor Susan Jebb gave a fantastic insight into emerging research her and her team have undertaken which posits the value that taking 30 seconds to advise people who are overweight about losing weight.
This session was very well evaluated and as a result we are delighted to announce a further opportunity to hearProfessor Jebb explain the detail of her research, alongside addressing some of the challenges and opportunities these approaches may present.
About this event:
Hear Professor Susan Jebb discuss the results of the BWEL (testing a brief intervention for weight loss in primary care) trial which tested the effect of GPs advising
people who are overweight about losing weight and hear what it means for us in primary care.
At the end of a consultation about another health
problem, GPs spent just 30 seconds advising their
patient that the best way to lose weight was to attend a weight loss programme and offered an NHS referral to a weight-loss programme there and then.
